Insurance Marketing Copywriter
In 2006, my writing career took an interesting turn when I transitioned from journalist to copywriter. I joined the GEICO marketing department. And over the next decade, I wrote content designed to get prospects to request a quote for their insurance needs. My work included direct mail packages, landing pages, emails, print and web ads, social media posts, brochures, postcards and more.
For the first time in my career, I was not writing to inform, but to sell. I’m grateful I made the switch because today I not only have another industry in which I am knowledgeable, but another skill set, too. My real estate writing experience began in 2002. I wrote for The Dealmakers, a commercial real estate industry trade magazine for nearly four years. The publication focused on industry transactions, retailers looking for space to lease and features on commercial real estate companies.
Since then, I’ve used my real estate writing experience to contribute to other web and print real estate focused publications. Those entities include the website Construction Dive, print publication American Builders Quarterly and Connected Real Estate Magazine, which focuses both on the real estate and wireless technology industries.
